Annuals at Blue River Nursery?

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

After many, many years of not growing annuals, we are finally doing it! We are venturing into this element of gardening, and are excited about what the world of annuals has to offer. Annuals are one of the few additions to a garden that can add color thru the spring and summer. Even when there are times that the perennials are lacking, the annuals can give your garden that extra boost. Right now we have multiple different varieties of annuals that fit in every spectrum of the color wheel; there are even a few varieties that will do well in the shade. Petunias are available in white, purples, reds, blues and pinks. Dahlias, Zinnias, Verbena, Marigolds, Impatients in multiple colors, Begonias, Fuchsias, Euphorbia, Celosia in a few different colors, Salvia, Geraniums, and other varieties as well. Along with the pots of annuals that are for sale, we also have a few hanging baskets that would easily brighten up any porch. We are finding that not only do the annuals look great planted in the gardens, but also in some of our pottery that we are selling here at the nursery. The contrast between the colored pots and the colored flowers that will stick around all season may be the missing element to your garden. We are still working to get the annuals posted on the website so we encourage you to come out and take a look at the newest genre of plants at the nursery before it is too late. The hanging baskets and pots of annuals would be a great idea for Mother’s Day, which is just around the corner!

We couldn't be happier with the landscaping they designed and installed!
