Japanese Stewartia is a great flowering tree seldom seen in the landscape. Stewartia pseudocamellia bloom in early July with fragrant white 5-6 petal flowers. 2-3 inches wide. Leathery leaves are dark green and very attractive. Fall color is outstanding mix of reds, oranges, and a touch of yellow. Bark of tree has a 3 tone brown, light brown, tan pattern that is extremely interesting in the winter. Tree rarely if ever needs pruned. It is truly rare when a deciduous tree has four season interest and as many outstanding qualities as Stewartia. What are you waiting for? Plant is native to Japan
