Gold Rush Dawn Redwood is a phenomenal plant and everyone should have one, providing they have room, however, it grow slower than the species. Foliage is chartreuse yellow to glowing yellow depending on the sun's angle. If its 90 degrees out and its noon and the sun is straight over head the plant glows to the point it looks holy! Species was thought to be extinct for millions of years. Found in rural China in the 1940s. Often referred to as the living fossil. Now we have this divine selection. Fall color is outrageous copper overlay on yellow. Unique! American Conifer Society plant in 2007 for good reason! I love this plant!

In spring before plant leafs out watering once every 5-7 days is fine. Once plant leafs out kick it up to once every 5 days. When it starts getting hot in late may and during summer water twice a week until leaf drop in the Fall. Once leaves drop, watering once every 5-7 days is acceptable until freeze.
